The top application view shows all applications in the inbound direction, outbound direction for both directions for the time period selected. NetScope uses the deep packet inspection (DPI) to inspect each packet and determine what application has sent it.
NOTE: although NetScope detects hundreds of different application types there are still some which may be marked as ‘Unknown’.
