Another great way looking at network traffic is to see top destination or top source ports/addresses. If, for example, you select Top Destination Addresses under the views menu it will show you a pie graph indicating the distribution of traffic as they relate to destination IP addresses.
In the image above we can see a large list of IP addresses on a pie graph. Each segment indicates how much of the total network traffic in this time period is used by each IP address.
Say we want to have a look at the second largest segment, which is indicated by the light green colour, we just have to click on that segment and we will zoom in on that traffic alone.
We can also choose to look at the network traffic by source or destination ports. There are many standard application ports and looking at top source or destination ports will give us a great idea of the type of applications running across our network.
